Introduction to coaching basketball
This course has been developed to provide learners with the confidence to deliver safe, fun and inclusive basketball sessions under the supervision of an independent coach. Previously, this was the level 1 coaching award. Fees for this course are £89 for Basketball England (BE) members and £99 for none BE Members.
- Barrow - Saturday 7th September 10am to 4.00pm
- Tameside - Sunday 22nd September 9am to 3pm
Level two club coach
This is the standard level of coaching qualification for all club coaches at local level. The award gives a general overview of all aspects of basketball, and a basic introduction to sports coaching. Fees for this course are £225 for Basketball England (BE) members and £245 for none BE Members.
- Online session one - Thursday 15th August - 7.00 to 9.00pm
- Practical session one - Sunday 18th August - 9.00am to 4.00pm at Oldham Sports for All Centre, Roman Rd, Failsworth, Oldham OL8 3PT
- Online session two - Monday 19th August - 7.00 to 8.30pm
- Online session three - Wednesday 21st August - 7.00 to 8.30pm
- Practical session two - Sunday 25th August - 9.00am to 4.00pm at Oldham Sports for All Centre, Roman Rd, Failsworth, Oldham OL8 3PT
- Individually agreed - assessment session.
Level three coach
This qualification is designed to prepare aspiring coaches for employment as a basketball coach in paid or voluntary roles, potentially within the elite game. This qualification is awarded by Basketball England and 1st4Sport qualifications. The qualification is supported by the NSG for Basketball comprised of the National Governing Bodies (Basketball England, Basketball Wales and Basketball Scotland) as the trade association and employers for basketball.
